About the visit

Kim Päivästö, a portrait

Kim Päivästö is Finland’s Chef of the Year 2021. He came to the OOBU kitchen a little over two weeks after winning the title, at the time head chef at Restaurant Inari in Helsinki.

His career has run through Petrus in London and Hertog Jan in Belgium to Demo and Inari. He trained first as a pastry chef, and it shows: classical French technique, an Asian influence and precision in the details.
