Yes — every dish is gluten-free and lactose-free, including breads, sauces and desserts. It is a founding principle of our kitchen, not a special request. Tell us about other diets and allergies when booking and we will account for them from the start.
The easiest way is via TableOnline or by phone 020 128 0900. TableOnline takes bookings for up to 8 guests; for larger parties and private events send a proposal request via the Private events page.
Open Tue–Thu 11–22, Fri 11–23 and Sat 12–23. Lunch Tue–Fri 11.00–14.30. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays. À la carte is available Tue–Fri after 4 pm and all day on Saturdays.
Our address is Läntinen Rantakatu 9, on the bank of the River Aura in central Turku. The restaurant is on floors 2–3 of the Bassi house, entrance on the river side. The nearest parking garages are Louhi and Auriga, with street parking on Läntinen Rantakatu.
No formal dress code — most of our guests dress smart casual. What matters most is that you feel at home.
Yes. Our four named spaces serve events of 12–50 guests — dinners, corporate events, wine tastings and cocktail receptions. Leave a proposal request and we will reply within 24 hours.
Children are welcome. On request the kitchen prepares smaller portions of dishes from our menu — tell us your wishes when booking.
Yes. The restaurant has its own lift from the entrance floor straight up to the dining rooms, and every restaurant floor has an accessible toilet. The house is a protected building from 1829, so there are a few low thresholds, but guests using wheelchairs and rollators visit us every week. Tell us when you book and we will have a suitable table ready.
Electronic lunch benefits work — both payment cards and mobile apps. Paper lunch vouchers we no longer accept: very few are still in circulation, and handling them takes up a disproportionate amount of the restaurant’s time.
Yes — a gift card to OOBU is an experience sure to delight. Gift cards can be bought via TableOnline or directly from the restaurant.

Our balcony over the River Aura is open in the summer season, weather permitting. Balcony seats unfortunately cannot be reserved in advance — they are filled in order of arrival.
