Your thank-you to the people who got the work over the line. We run the evening so you can be present at it.
Karonkka at OOBU
The form is exact: the speeches are many, their order is agreed in advance, and the shape of the evening has to be settled before the first guest walks in.
We have hosted more than fifty karonkkas over the years. It shows in the fact that you will not have to explain the format to us. We know when service pauses for a speech and when it resumes, and how to pace the evening so it does not break in the wrong place.
Our average karonkka party is 32 people. The smallest we take is twelve.
The room and the table
Twenty guests fit around a single long table in Lyhty. At a karonkka that matters: at one table every speech reaches everyone and nobody sits out.
Larger parties are laid across several tables. Kompassi takes 20–34 guests and is our most used room for karonkkas; Juhlasali seats up to seventy. A karonkka for twelve sits around one table in Kajuutta.
Every room has a screen or a projector and an HDMI connection, if you want to show images alongside the speeches.

What it costs
There is no separate room hire. Instead we agree a minimum spend for the occasion — the amount the party eats and drinks during the evening. A karonkka party passes it on the menu choice alone, so in practice the room costs nothing on top.
Occasions starting before 4 pm carry no minimum spend at all.

Yes. Every room has a screen or a projector with HDMI. Juhlasali has a large electrically lowered screen.
